Investigators are those Men and Women charged with finding the truth where it is hidden, they can be private or hired by the state. Most often, they are people of great intellect and vast knowledge of the human state, knowledge dedicated to finding and discerning crime from innocence.

Profession: Informant
Upon spending an hour asking around, and succeeding on a medium-DC Wisdom (Perception) check, you can find a contact within the local constabulary or guard hierarchy. This contact begins as friendly to you and will answer questions you have regarding local wanted criminals, law enforcement, and ongoing or previous investigations.
Ranks
Rank 1 – Aspiring Investigator
You have been taken in by an Investigator, either Private or State-employed, and you learn the art of searching for evidence and questioning people to uncover the truth. Your duties involve writing down clues uncovered by your teacher and creating possible conclusions based on those clues.
Holdings:
- A room in your master’s shop or office.
- A contact with a criminal informant.
Progression: Buy or Build your own private investigator office or pass an exam to become a State Investigator.
- Investigate 1,200 criminal cases.
Rank 2 – Investigator
After your apprenticeship, you have been recognized as a full-fledged Investigator with your own firm, depending on whether you are private or state-owned, you are called on cases or actively participate in solving third-party bounties by tracking down the identities of unknown criminals, whether you are alone or helping armed mercenaries, your goal is to point your finger at the crime and bring it to justice.
Holdings:
- Your own Office where you manage your Investigator business
- An apprentice detective who helps you with your daily chores and learns the job.
- Grants a +1 bonus to your Intelligence proficiency bonus when performing your profession.
Progression: Become known for your ability to solve cases.
- Investigate 2,400 criminal cases.
Rank 3 – Chief Investigator
After proving your effectiveness as an investigator you have found yourself in command of a force of private or national investigators capable of handling and covering a wide variety of cases that are passed mostly by the military forces of the nation where your office is present.
Holdings:
- A large office with a vast collection of Archived Cases.
- A team of investigators who assist you and carry out the cases you assign them.
- Grants a +1 bonus to your Intelligence proficiency bonus when performing your profession. Stacks with prior rank (+2 total).
Progression: To continue in this profession you must be recognized as the best investigator and be noticed by the Ruler of the nation you inhabit.
- Investigate 4,800 criminal cases.
Rank 4 – Grand Questioner
You have become the main point of contact for all cases that need solving in the name of the Sovereign of your nation, he invites you to court to discuss wanted criminals that border on legend and myth.
Holdings:
- Access to cases of high relevance to the state by the Sovereign of the nation.
- A large team of Chief Inquisitors and Inquisitors who handle minor cases on behalf of your institution.
- Access to the most private areas of your country thanks to the recognition of your Status.

Profession Change
To change from your current profession to this profession you must meet the following pre-requisites:
- 1 Middle Class Contact
- Brought in a bounty of a Gang Leader or above
You cannot change professions again, until you have reached at least Rank 2 of this profession.
